Galway United have announced the re-signing of Francely Lomboto ahead of next year’s First Division campaign.

The 21 year old is a product of Galway’s academy and made his debut for the first team during the 2020 season scoring twice.

“Yeah it feels good to get back, I’m really excited to get started again now,” the striker said, speaking to the club’s website.

“I thank god just for the people around me like the gaffer (John Caulfield) to get me back in around the boys and make me feel like a part of the team, the boys around me and my family at home. It’s good to be back after a long eight or nine months.”

Lomboto had a challenging 2021 after the forward had a promising pre-season for the Tribesmen until he suffered a broken leg in a friendly against Wexford.

That injury kept the player out of action for the entire 2021 campaign with Lomboto only returning to training in the last weeks of the season.
