Luke Heeney re-signs for Drogheda United

Luke Heeney has extended his stay at Drogheda United by committing to the Louth club for the 2022 season.

The 22 year old is heading into his fourth season with the Boynesiders having joined Drogheda from St Patrick’s Athletic ahead of the 2019 season.

“I’m delighted to be back on board for another year. I love it here and as soon as Kev got in contact with me to sign back, I didn’t have to think twice,” Heeney said, speaking to the club’s media team.

Heeney has made 70 appearances for the club in total and he made 30 appearances in 2021 as United finished seventh on their first season back in the Premier Division having won the First Division in 2020.
