The draw for the semi-final of the FAI Women’s Senior Cup has taken place with Galway, Shelbourne, Peamount United and Wexford Youths all finding out who they will face for a spot in the final.

Last year’s Cup Champions Peamount have been drawn at home to Wexford Youths with the side meeting each other at this stage of the competition for the second year in a row.

United came out on top last year as they went on to defeat Cork City in the final, but they will still have memories of the 2018 and 2019 finals with Wexford claiming victory in the Aviva Stadium on both occasionas.

Galway have been given a tough assignment with an away trip to current WNL leaders Shelbourne in the other semi-final.

No Galway team has made it to the final in over ten years with Salthill Devon contesting the 2010 final, losing out to Peamount United.

Shels will be looking to make it to the final for the first time in five years with their last appearance coming in 2016 when they defeated Wexford Youths to claim the Cup, but they will have to beat an improving Galway to get to Tallaght Stadium in November.

The ties are scheduled to be played on the weekend of the 9th of October.
