Conor Barry signs for Athlone Town on loan from Finn Harps

Athlone Town have announced the loan signing of Conor Barry for the remainder of the League of Ireland season.

Barry had signed for Premier Division side Finn Harps ahead of the 2021 season but the midfielder will now provide a boost to Adrian Carberry’s Athlone side as they try to push for promotion from the second tier.

The 25 year old began his career with Salthill Devon before signing for Galway United on their return to the League of Ireland in 2014.

This loan move will be Barry’s second spell with Athlone Town, with the midfielder moving to the club from Galway in 2016 where he would remain for a year and a half before returning to the Tribesmen.

Athlone Town host Treaty United at home this Friday night in the First Division (kick-off 7.45pm).
