Athlone Town announce a pair of signings as Niamh Coombes and Chloe Flynn sign for the club
Athlone Town have unveiled two new signings midway through the season with Niamh Coombes and Chloe Flynn both joining Tommy Hewitt’s squad for the rest of the Women’s National League season.
Both have most recently played with Bohemians in the WNL and made their last appearances for the Gypsies in their 7-1 loss to Wexford Youths in May.
Coombes will be a good addition to the Town’s goalkeeping options and the shot stopped returns to the club that he played for during the 2020 WNL season, having also played for Kilkenny United previously.
Flynn was part of Bohs inaugural WNL squad last season and the defender moves on from the Gypsies after over a year at the Dublin club.
Athlone are back in action on Saturday with a trip to Turners Cross to face Cork City (kick-off 2pm).
