Marc Bircham secured his first win as Waterford boss as the Blues sunk a sorry Dundalk at Oriel Park.

Jim Magilton’s side took a 29th minute lead through Patrick Hoban, but Waterford scored three unanswered to seal the three points.

John Martin levelled just before the break – his first of the night – and then Shane Griffin made it 2-1 in the 62nd minute.

Bircham’s side ensured they would move off the foot of the table in the 75th minute as Martin struck again.

Shamrock Rovers were held at home in front of 1,000 supporters by Finn Harps at Tallaght Stadium.

Aaron Greene have the Hoops the lead, but they were pegged back in the 55th minutes thanks to an Adam Foley equaliser.

Meanwhile, Derry City struck late to secure a point against Bohemians at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.

Ali Coote looked to have given Bohs the win, but they were thwarted at the death by a injury time Marc Walsh equaliser.
