St Patrick’s Athletic loanee Alfie Lewis has been released by Premier League side West Ham United.

Lewis joined the Saints on loan from West Ham ahead of the start of the 2021 season – and has impressed suitably for Stephen O’Donnell’s charges.

Since joining the Richmond Park outfit, Lewis has played 11 times for the club – making six starts, and five appearances off the bench.

“Young professionals Sean Adarkwa, Olatunji Akinola, Samuel Caiger, Alfie Lewis and Joshua Okotcha will also depart the Club when their contracts expire on June 30,” a West Ham statement said.

“West Ham United would like to thank all departing players for their service and wish them every success in their future careers.”

While at the East London club – Lewis played for the club’s under-23 side, and was part of the West Ham side that won the Premier League 2 Division Two title in the 2019/20 season.

And the 21-year-old joined the Hammers at the age of 9, but he never made a senior appearance the club.
