Cobh Ramblers have announced the signing of striker Killian Cooper from College Corinthians in the Munster Senior League Premier Division.

The 21-year-old played for Everton AFC at underage level before joining the Ramblers’ under-17 team in 2015. At the end of that season he re-joined Everton’s senior set-up in the Munster Senior League.

The forward then went on to play for both College Corinthians and Avondale in the MSL Premier Division.

The forward was crucial in Corinthians run to the quarter finals of the 2019/20 FAI Intermediate Cup. His performances earned him a call up to the present the Munster Senior League at Inter-Provincial level.

“I’m delighted to sign for the club,” he told Cobh’s media team. “I’m after settling in well in the last few weeks, and we can’t wait to get going and show everyone what we know we are capable of.

“I’ve played a lot of adult football in the last few years which has helped me a lot as a player, in terms of my knowledge of the game and the physical side of my game. I’d like to thank everyone who has played their part in helping me get to where I am. I can’t wait to push myself further again this year.”

The Ramblers have had a lot of success with signing players from the Munster Senior League in recent seasons. Chris Hull, who played for Mayfield United, scored to beat Dundalk in the semi-finals of the 2018 EA Sports Cup.

Goalkeeper Sean Barron, who won the 2019 FAI Intermediate Cup with Avondale United, has been a rock for Stuart Ashton’s side since he was brought in the summer of 2020.
