Waterford have announced the re-signing of Darragh Power and Tunmise Sobowale as pre-season preperations continue at the RSC.

Power has been a Waterford player since 2017 having risen up through the ranks from the club's underage sides all the way to the senior setup.

Power is delighted to be back in training with his teammates ahead of the new campaign.

“I’m delighted to be back for the new season. It’s great to be back training with the lads after an extended break away. I’ve been training away on my own the last couple of weeks. Running, and hill runs, so it is great to be back in with the boys.

“We’re all excited for the new year, and hungry to get going. Everyone is focused on the first game against Drogheda, and getting the season off to the best possible start.”

Also re-signing is Tunmise Sobowale who returned to Waterford last July after two years with Finn Harps. Sobowale has also played overseas having spent time in Spain with Hercules after leaving Waterford in 2017.

“The first couple of days of preseason are always tough, but we are getting there. There is a good atmosphere around the place which is important within the squad.

"The manager has set out his plan for the season ahead and we are all focused on getting off to the best possible start," remarked the midfielder after putting pen to paper on his new deal.

Waterford are also expecting to release information of more signings in the coming days with the club saying in a statement: "There will be further signing announcements throughout the week."
