Warrenpoint Town sign Adam Evans and Daniel Byrne from Longford and Shelbourne

Irish League side Warrenpoint Town have unveiled the signatures of both Adam Evans and Daniel Byrne from Longford and Shelbourne respectively.

Evans joins the Milltown based side after helping his former club Longford to promotion, as they got promoted at the expense of Byrne’s Shelbourne side.

The two players will join a host of former League of Ireland players at Warrenpoint Town in Colm Deasy, Kealan Dillon, Ryan Swan, Gabriel Sava and Gavin Peers.

“We are delighted to get Adam on board, he’s a high energy player that plays in wide advanced areas,” Warrenpoint boss Barry Gray told his club’s website.

“We have been actively looking for some competition in this area, and Adam certainly fits this bill, with the stats showing after his first session we are certain to see that high intensity we want.”

Gray added on the signing of defender Byrne: “Dan is a great addition to the panel, boasts huge experience and has a massive drive to play, compete and be successful.”

Warrenpoint Town currently find themselves in 8th position in the Northern Irish top-flight.

They recently defeated Linfield for the first time in their history in November thanks to a 2-1 win.

Former Athlone Town duo Alan O’Sullivan and Kealan Dillon both scored for the Point on that occasion.
