Adam Wixted signs for Athlone Town from Drogheda United

Athlone Town have announced the Christmas Eve signing of Adam Wixted, who moves to the Midlanders from Drogheda United.

The 25 year old midfielder has played for a host of club's including Stella Maris and Derby County, while he has also lined out for the Republic of Ireland underage sides.

Wixted was last seen in Drogheda United colours when he appeared as an unused sub at the end of October in Drogheda's 2-0 win over Cabinteely - a win that saw the County Louth side clinch the First Division title.
