Brian Murphy re-signs for Waterford

Premier Division Waterford have confirmed the re-signing of goalkeeper Brian Murphy ahead of the 2021 season.

Murphy re-signs for the Blues after enjoying an impressive 2020 between the sticks for the South-East outfit.

News of the 37-year-old’s re-signing comes just after it emerged that Kevin Sheedy has been named as the club’s first-team boss.

Sheedy will be joined by ex-Premier League winner Mike Newell as his assistant manager at the RSC.

Murphy is the first to re-sign for Waterford after a raft of departures from the club in recent weeks.

Today, their chairman Lee Power issued a statement saying that he is hopeful that the club will be competing at the top end of the Premier Division table.

It is expected that the Blues will confirm more transfer news in the coming days.
