Nottingham Forest snap up Irish international midfielder Harry Arter as Cyrus Christie also joins

Championship outfit Nottingham Forest have confirmed the acquisition of Irish international midfielder Harry Arter.

Arter joins Forest just days after it was confirmed that Cyrus Christie has joined Sabri Lambouchi's side.

Forest have lost their opening two games of the Championship season – with their most recent being a two-nil defeat at home to Cardiff City at the City Ground.

Arter joins Karanka’s side on loan from Premier League Fulham, and he is hoping that he can get promoted from the Championship for the third time as a player.

“I felt like I was ready for a new challenge and I wanted to come to a club with a strong past and an ambitious future,” Arter told Forest’s media team.

“It's a Premier League club in my opinion and getting it back there is what we all want to achieve.

“It is a move I'm really excited about and I want to contribute in helping the club get back to the top-flight.”

He added: “I've been promoted twice, once with Bournemouth and once with Fulham, and they were two completely different experiences.

“At both clubs we had a group of determined players who knew what their end goal was and that's what we need to have here.

“I feel like I can add that mentality to the squad because the older you get, the more you realise you have to try and influence people around you.”

Christie also joined the club on loan from the Cottagers but was left out of their defeat against Cardiff on the weekend.
