Watch: Aaron McCabe lob helps Longford Town to pivotal win over Wexford
Longford Town forward Aaron McCabe once again played the role of super-sub for Longford Town as his two late goals earned Town a vital win over Wexford.
McCabe was introduced as an 83rd minute substitute for Adam Evans, and he repaid his manager’s faith in gold with an 86th minute goal.
After a long clearance upfield, McCabe spotted Wexford keeper Tom Murphy off his line and planted his lob into the back of the net.

His lob came just ten minutes after Conor Crowley had equalised for the Slaneysiders as his free-kick went all the way into Lee Steacy’s net.

Town took a ninth minute lead through Sam Verdon’s spot-kick. McCabe would wrap up the three points for Town in the 93rd minute to score his third league goal of the season.
The result sees Longford Town move to within three points of league leaders Cabinteely, although they have played a game more than their South Dublin title rivals.
