Anthony Stokes makes Scottish Premiership return to join Livingston

Dubliner Anthony Stokes has joined Scottish Premiership side Livingston following his departure from Iranian side Persepolis.

Stokes, who is formerly of Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers, joins Livingston after previous spells in Scotland with Falkirk, Glasgow Celtic and Hibernian.

The 32-year-old has won four Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and one League Cup since beginning his career in Scotland.

Stokes joined Persepolis in January of this year, but the outbreak of Covid-19 meant that his time in Iran came to a quicker than expected halt.

The Dubliner joins Livingston who lie bottom of the Premiership table after five games played.

Livingston will play Ross County on Saturday afternoon at 3pm looking for their first win of the season.

Elsewhere in Scotland, former Bohemians and Cork City forward Eoghan Stokes has joined Airdrie.
