Scottish Premiership Round-Up: Scoreless draws halt momentum for Rangers and Hibs

Rangers missed the chance to go two points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a scoreless draw at Livingston over the weekend.

The Livingston defense, including Polish keeper Max Stryjek who was making his debut for the club, had their work cut out to keep their clean sheet against Rangers.

Rangers had a number of chances to take the lead, the pick of which was a second-half free kick from Borna Bariši? which Stryjek was able to deflect onto the woodwork and out for a corner.

Following the clash Steven Gerrard expressed his frustration with the result.

“We just couldn’t find that moment of quality," said the former Liverpool captain. “We’ve got ourselves to blame in terms of dropping two points."

Fellow table-toppers Hibernian were also held to a scoreless draw against Motherwell.

The results mean Celtic are six points off the pace with two games in hand.

Ross County’s unbeaten start came to an end after a 2-1 home defeat to Dundee United.

The Staggies had taken the lead midway through the first half thanks to Coll Donaldson, but Dundee United hit back with goals from Peter Pawlett and Nicky Clark to claim all three points.

Elsewhere there were victories for St. Johnstone against Kilmarnock and St. Mirren against Hamilton Academical.

The Accies remain rooted to the bottom of the table with zero points having played three games.
