Odhran Casey signs pro contract with Cliftonville

Cliftonville have handed a first professional contract to the versatile Odhrán Casey.

Casey can play in defence or in midfield and has impressed at youth level for the north Belfast outfit.

Caretaker Manager Michael Press handed Casey his senior debut for the Solitude side in a Danske Bank Premiership fixture with Glenavon in January 2019.

He is also a Northern Ireland under 18 schoolboy international and helped the young Reds pick up the Harry Cavan youth cup after a 5-1 win in the final over Institute last month.

Casey represented Northern Ireland in the Centenary shield in March.

Reds manager Paddy McLaughlin said "We're delighted to get him on his first professional contract he’s come through the ranks at Cliftonville and it’s reward for not only Oran’s hard work but also the hard work of the development coaches at the club who have produced yet another top young talent.”

Cliftonville returned to action last Saturday, winning the Tommy Breslin Memorial Cup at Crewe United as McLaughlin's men stepped up preparations for the new season.
