Atlanta United confirm return of Dundalk native Jon Gallagher following Aberdeen loan

MLS side Atlanta United have confirmed the return of Dundalk native Jon Gallagher following his recent loan stint with Aberdeen.

Gallagher played a key role in role Aberdeen’s 2019/20 Scottish Premiership campaign where he made 33 appearances, scoring once.

He played 22 times in the league for Derek McInnes’ side, with his only goal for the club coming in a 2-2 draw against Glasgow Rangers.

Gallagher also appeared in six Europa League matches and recorded three assists, playing against the likes of Rops Rovaniemi, HNK Rijeka and Chikhura Sachkere.

The 24-year-old will now link back up with his parent club who are managed by Dutch legend Frank De Boer.

Fellow Irishman and former Crumlin United schoolboy star Jake Mulraney also plays for Atlanta.
