Derry City confirm departure of Norwegian forward Tim Nilsen

Premier Division side Derry City have confirmed the departure of Norwegian forward Tim Nilsen.

Nilsen joined the Candystripes in January, after spending the 2018-19 season with Fredrikstad.

A Derry City statement on Sunday evening read: “Derry City FC would like to wish Tim Nilsen every success in his future career as the striker departs the club by mutual consent.”

The 27-year-old made four appearances for Derry, although he was unable to get his name onto the scoresheet in any of their opening four league games.

Prior to joining Derry, Nilsen played for Norwegian outfits Fyllingen, Fyllingsdalen, Nest-Sotra, Sogndal, Fana, Ljugskile, Mjondalen and most recently Fredrikstad. He also played in the Russian Premier League with FC Khimki,
