Ireland set for October playoff against Slovakia as UEFA confirm details of rescheduled international matches

The Republic of Ireland are due to face Slovakia in their EURO 2020 play-off semi-final on October 8^th after UEFA confirmed details of the rescheduled European qualifiers.

The continental governing body also said that the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League will begin in September.

That means that Stephen Kenny will begin his reign as Ireland boss with a clash away to Bulgaria on September 3^rd.

The former Longford Town and Dundalk boss will also see his side face Finland at the Aviva Stadium in September.

Should Ireland see past Slovakia in October, a potential play-off final against either Northern Ireland or Bosnia awaits on November 12^th.

UEFA have also confirmed that Dublin will remain as a host city for the upcoming European Championships.

The national team football windows of October and November 2020 will now feature triple-headers instead of double-headers.
