Former Wexford Youths midfielder McKenna Davidson joins Lithuanian side FK Gintra
Former Wexford Youths midfielder McKenna Davidson has made the move to Lithuanian side FK Gintra after her departure from Ferrycarrig Park.
The 25-year-old bowed out of the Women’s National League with a FAI Cup medal to her name, as the Slaneysiders edged out Peamount United in the Aviva Stadium decider.
Davidson’s last game for Youths was in the said cup final, where she came on as a second half substitute for Tom Elmes’ side.
Previously, the midfielder spoke to extratime.ie prior to the cup final, where she opened up on her impending departure from the Women’s National League.
She joins Gintra – a side who Wexford faced in the Champions League Qualifiers during the summer.
In 2016 (i was 21) I told my uncle I’d sign with a professional club by the time i’m 25. If not, i’d stop chasing the dream. I turned 25 in October + yesterday I signed my first professional contract. The universe does not F around people!
