Ireland's Troy Parrott makes Tottenham Hotspur league debut in Burnley routSat, Dec 07 2019
Troy Parrott was handed his league debut in Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League outing with Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
The Buckingham Street youngster was an 85th-minute replacement for England striker Deli Alli as Spurs a 5-0 lead at White Hart Lane.
The former Belvedere youth was busy and dropped deep in search of work for his brief spell on the field.
Parrott, 17, made his senior debut for Spurs in a penalty shoot-out defeat to Colchester United in the Carabao Cup and was replaced by Christian Eriksen in the second half.
He was previously named on the bench for a Premier League meeting with Everton in November but has been forced to wait for his first league appearance.
The sacking of Maricio Pochettino, who had brought him into the first team, and replacement with Jose Mourinho introduced some uncertainty to Parrott’s immediate future.
Parrott, who made his senior international debut against New Zealand last month, is set to play a part in the dead rubber Champions League outing against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
