William Hill bets on Shamrock Rovers

On Thursday afternoon in Dublin city centre Bookmakers William Hill were unveiled as new sponsors of Shamrock Rovers Football Club. They are universally recognised as one of the worlds leading betting and gaming organisations and have been around for over seventy years.

At the launch Rovers manager Pat Scully offered some of his thoughts ahead of his sides clash with Bohemians on Friday night and also gave an update on the clubs injury situation

Scully of course is no stranger to the Bohemians derby. He wore the green and white Hoops fifty five times and since taking over as manager the sides have met on no fewer than six occasions. "This is a big game. There's a massive rivalry between the two clubs and I'm sure that the atmosphere, passion and colour will show off the eircom League at its best"

The atmosphere and dislike for the opposition certainly makes games between these two sides stand out. Both sides have started the season strongly and for the first time in years they are both genuine contenders for the major honours.

However Scully doesnt want his players to dwell too much on the atmosphere and the size of the occasion and would prefer they treat it as just another league game. "I'll be telling our players to concentrate on their performance and forget about the crowd and the atmosphere. Once we do that I would be very confident of victory."

He has every right to believe that his side is capable of picking up three points. Rovers have already defeated current champions Drogheda at United Park and have also picked up convincing wins against Bray and Galway. In their only other league game this season they came back from a goal down to draw with title hopefuls Cork. Not only have Rovers been getting positive results but the performances have also been very impressive.

For tonights game Chris Mulhall, Aidan Price and Padraig Amond are all still ruled out. Full back Darren Stapleton has a thigh strain ,however he should be fit to start if selected. Pat Flynn is still suspended.
