Cliftonville sign former Bray and Drogheda defender Joe Gorman

Northern Irish Premier League side Cliftonville have announced the signing of former Bray Wanderers and Drogheda United centre-back Joe Gorman.

Gorman, 24, joins the Reds as Cliftonville look to consolidate their spot in the Championship Group of the NIFL Premiership in the coming months.

Cliftonville lost their most recent clash in the league against Institute, where Barry Gray’s side fell to an entertaining 6-4 defeat away to their Co Derry opposition.

Most recently of Clyde in Scotland’s League Two, Gorman has enjoyed previous spells in Scotland with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Airdrie before making the move to Solitude.

Reds manager Barry Gray noted that he is pleased to seal the signing of former Ireland underage international after being impressed by what the defender has to offer for the Reds.

“I’m very pleased to have completed this deal and look forward to having Joe available for selection in the coming weeks.” Gray said.

“He’s a player who has come highly recommended, while we’ve also watched him in action ourselves and, like any signing we make, is someone I believe can help us improve as a team and a squad.”
