Watch: Eoin Doyle scores goal of the season contender for Oldham Athletic

Former Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers man Eoin Doyle is the most in-form Irish striker in the UK right now.

The Preston North End striker made it 11 goals in 11 games for his loan club Oldham Athletic on Saturday as he struck twice late on to secure a 3-1 win over Rochdale.

His first goal showed classic poacher's insincts as he hammered home a loose ball, but it was the clinching goal three minutes later that rightly stole the show.

A speculative punt forward was flicked on by substitute Aaron Holloway, and the Firhouse native looped a wonderful first-time volley over keeper Josh Lillis.

The result lifts the Addicks three points clear of the relegation zone – where they've spent almost the entire season – and into mid-table.
