Niclas Vemmelund mulling Dundalk offer amid Danish interest, according to representatives

Dundalk defender Niclas Vemmelund is running the rule over a two-year contract offer from the Lilywhites and offers in his native Denmark, according to the player's representatives.

The 25-year-old joined the Louth club at the beginning of the season after parting company with Derry City and has established himself as a constant in Stephen Kenny's defence.

Vemmelund has made 22 appearances in the league so far for the Lilywhites, scoring three times, and played in both of their Champions League qualifiers against Rosenberg.

NM Consulting, a company run by Scottish football consultant Neil Murray, claim that Dundalk have put a two-year deal on the table

It is claimed that the former Odense and Stjarnan defender has been attracting interest from clubs back in his homeland following positive showings against Rosenberg.

Vemmelund arrived in Ireland at the beginning of the 2016 season, signing for Derry City, and he played in all but one of the Candystripes' league games before moving to the then-champions.

NM Consultancy represents several other Derry City players, including Jordan Allen, Harry Monaghan and last week's addition Dapo Kayode.

Another player, defender Felix Bape, was on trial at Bohemians during the summer and has since played with AUL Premier A champions Sheriff YC.
