Dentistry student Sadhbh Doyle has re-signed for Peamount United, having cut her teeth on the outskirts of Dublin at Greenogue since joining the Peas in 2020.

A year into Doyle’s time with the now reigning Women’s Premier Division Champions, the name Sadhbh placed 35th on the most popular girls names in Ireland - yet had the sample survey been narrowed to Newcastle, its ranking would have surely been higher.

The 2019 under 19 FAI International Player of the Year began her WNL career at Galway WFC in 2017, playing for the Connacht side for three seasons before a demanding schedule required the Trinity sport scholar to search for a Dublin club.

Since transferring to United in 2020, Doyle’s talents have been rightly recognised, the 23 year old receiving the nod for the SSE Airtricity Women’s Player of the Month in May of last season, followed by the league’s Player of The Year award at the season’s conclusion.

Despite the Galwegian’s decision to park a biomedical science degree in NUI, the Ireland international has been forensic in execution on the pitch.

In 2021, Doyle scored nine times in 26 league and cup appearances, with another 26 appearances in 2022 resulting in 11 successful hits on goal in all competitions.

In 2023 she scored five times in 23 appearances while also winning her second League title with the club, and will now have the opportunity to shine on a world stage when Peamount compete in The UEFA Women’s Champions League later this year.

No doubt Doyle will look to extract many more titles for James O Callaghan’s side in the seasons to come.
