Ali Coote has completed an overseas move to the United States to join USL side Detroit City.

Bohs have bid farewell to the midfielder, marking the end of his impactful stint with the Premier Division side.

The 25-year-old Scotsman, who joined Bohemians in December 2020, quickly established himself as a key figure within the squad.

Coote's stellar performances on the pitch earned him the Player of the Month award for August 2021.

And he produced a standout moment in Bohemians Europa Conference League run in 2021 when he scored against PAOK Thessaloniki at the Aviva Stadium.

The former Dundee United prospect amassed 41 appearances during that season and scored seven goals.

But his journey with the Gypsies concluded when his contract expired at the end of the 2023 season which marked a new chapter in his career.

Coote's football journey began in his youth at Tayport Thistle, followed by the Dundee United academy.

His professional career kicked off in June 2014, culminating in his senior debut against Aberdeen on April 18, 2015. Along the way, Coote gained experience at Waterford Football Club and East Fife (on loan from Dundee United).

Notably, he spent a significant period at Brentford, where he made 79 appearances and scored 19 goals for the B team, earning accolades such as the Team Player of the Year award in the 2018-2019 season.



Internationally, Coote represented Scotland at various youth levels, accumulating 18 caps from 2012 to 2015 in the national youth setup.
