Waterford has successfully re-signed three key players, strengthening their squad for the 2024 campaign.

The club announced the retention of Rowan McDonald, Connor Parsons, and Niall O'Keeffe, all of whom played pivotal roles in the team's recent promotion.

Rowan McDonald, a versatile player capable of performing in both defence and midfield, has extended his contract with the Blues.

The 22-year-old, who came through Manchester City's academy and led their Premier League U18 Cup team to victory in 2019, expressed his excitement about the club's future.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract... The plans in place at the club is something that excites me," McDonald said.

Connor Parsons, a fan favourite, has also committed to the club for the 2024 season.

Parsons, who scored eight goals last season including a critical equaliser in the Promotion/Relegation Play-Off, has been a key figure since joining from Wycombe Wanderers.

He shared his enthusiasm about the club's promotion, saying, "The goal when coming to Waterford was to help get the club promoted back into the Premier Division where Waterford belong, and I’m over the moon that we were able to achieve that this season."

Finally, Niall O'Keeffe, a product of Waterford's Academy, has renewed his contract.

With over 100 senior League of Ireland appearances, the 22-year-old midfielder brings significant experience to the team.

O'Keeffe expressed his eagerness for the upcoming season, stating, "It was an easy decision for me, at my home club, when the manager said he wanted me in his plans for the coming season in the Premier Division."
