League Preview: Finn Harps -v- Kerry

FINN HARPS

Play-off chasing Finn Harps will be looking to build on last weekend’s big win over Treaty United when they welcome Kerry to Finn Park on Friday night (kick-off is at 8pm).

Dave Rogers’ side were in the midst of a dismal run of form prior to their win at the Market’s Field.

And that win has kept them in touch with those in the play-off places despite their woes.

Harps have also been without key duo Ryan Rainey and Ellis Farrar in recent weeks due to long-term injuries for the pair.

And those two have been joined on the treatment table by Daniel Okwute, Caoimhin Porter and Sean Bradley.

Harps are not expected to have any other names out for Friday’s clash against Kerry.

KERRY

Following a demoralising 6-0 loss at home to Wexford last weekend, Billy Dennehy’s side must react against Finn Harps if they are to avoid a similar loss on the road.

Kerry went into last weekend’s game at Mounthawk Park with a spring in their step after strong performances against Longford Town, Athlone Town and Bray Wanderers.

But a sobering loss against James Keddy’s men gave them a dose of reality – with Dennehy knowing his young team must get the basics right again.

“For us it’s about putting in a performance, finding the performance levels that we’ve seen in the last number of games before Wexford," he said.

“We were at our strongest and we were starting to get a bit of rhythm in terms of how we’re looking to play. Consistency is what we’re looking for.

“Friday is just about getting back to doing the basics right.”

Jonathan Hanafin, Wayne Guthrie, Junior Ankomah, Mark Carey remain out for the Kingdom.

Referee: Alan Patchell.
