Synan’s Biography
Synan was a midfielder who began his career at Dundalk in 1975. He joined Liverpool in April 1978 and spent eighteen months at Anfield without making a senior appearance, returning to Oriel Park in January 1980 where he played for a further two seasons with the Lilywhites.
In 1981 he signed for St Patrick's Athletic where he played for five seasons, moving on in 1986 to join Athlone Town. After two seasons with Athlone Synan had further spells at Drogheda United, Kilkenny City and Longford Town before finally retiring from the game in 1993.
Synan made two senior international appearances with the Republic of Ireland in 1978.
