UCD get the three points, they deserved it based on their first half performance alone.They were under pressure for most of the second half but proved very solid in defence.
City were poor in the first half but improved a lot in the second half. They created very few clear cut chances and were reliant on half chances to try to fashion an equaliser.
UCD have two games left but are guaranteed a promotion play off spot while City have only one game left when they face John Caulfield's Galway Utd in Turners Cross on Oct 29th.
Corner to City , this may be there last chance
Cork running out of time but they are putting in a huge effort trying to work an equalliser
UCD have weathered the City storm and are beginning to mount a few attacks of their own
McGlade wins a good corner for City but then wastes the resultant free kick by hitting it wide.
City are now camped in the UCD half, they are playing much better while the students have gone into a very subdued mood
There is a mist setting in over Belfield as City now take control of the match
Whelan is fouled by Coleman but the free is wasted , the ball goes wide
City force another corner after good play on the left by McGlade
Corner to UCD,another glancing header at this end and the ball also flashes just wide
Bolger whips in a good free kick for City and a glancing header just goes wide, better from the visitors
Bright start by City, perhaps the triple substitutions at half time are having the desired effect,
UCD lead at the break, its only 1-0 but they have been far the better side and in reality could be further ahead.
Cork City have been very disappointing so far, they seem bereft of ideas in midfield in particular and have not given any service to their main striker Cian Murphy.
Colin Healy will need to address their deficiencies at half time if they are to come back into the game
Whelan almost scores a second but Harrington does very well to narow the angle and get a block in.
The students more than deserved that goal, they have been much the better side in the first half
UCD are straight through, Harrington is forced to bring down their attacker and the referee points to the spot

UCD's passing is a lot crisper than Cork's and the visitors are forced to play long balls which have not been of any benefit to them so far.
Its all UCD at the moment, Kerrigan is straight through but is fouled by Coffey who gets a yellow card.
Todd takes it but it goes out for a corner which is eventually cleared

Kennedy gives the ball away in midfield, quick break by UCD and they are almost through on goal but Coleman manages to hack the ball away

Both sides attacking at every opportunity, Cork actually had the ball in the net but Bargary was ruled offside by the assistant referee.
Bragary causing trouble for UCD down the right, he wins a corner but its cleared

Both sides go on early attacks, Bargary makes an incisive run for City while Whelan breaks through the City defence but is eventually crowded out.
UCD show three changes from the team which lost to Wexford two weeks ago. Lorcan Healy,Sean Brennan and Evan Caffrey start in place of Carl Williams, Dara Keane and Mark Dignam.
Two changes on the Cork City team tonight, captain Gearoid Morrisey and Josh Honahan start in place of Gordon Walker and Alex Byrne from last weeks 4-0 win over Wexford.
