Ray Scully

Ray started his career with Shelbourne, playing for the club's U21 squad before moving to Kildare County at the start of 2002/03, their debut season in the League of Ireland. He made an immediate impact at Station Road and made 48 league appearances over the next two seasons, earning the club's Player of the Year award for the transitional 2003 season.

At the start of 2004 Ray signed for John Gill at newly promoted Dublin City and he made 12 league appearances before Gill was replaced by Roddy Collins in July. Shortly afterwards Ray was released as part of a fourteen player clear-out and he returned to Kildare County where he played out the remainder of the '04 season.

Bizarrely, Ray's manager at Kildare, Dermot Keely, was appointed at Dublin City at the start of 2005 and Ray followed him, making 33 league appearances and helping the Vikings to promotion from the First Division. In 2006 Ray moved on to Shamrock Rovers where he made 12 league appearances before signing for Dundalk in the summer transfer window, where he made 10 appearances as the Lilywhites finished second to Shamrock Rovers in the First division table.

In 2007 Ray Signed for Waterford United where he made 25 league appearances in what would be a relegation year for the Blues. At the end of the 2007 season, he spent a period out of league football before reuniting in July 2009, signing for Dermot Keeley at his first club, Shelbourne. His Shels debut came in a 3-0 win over Monaghan United at Gortakeegan on 4 September.

Over the next two year Ray made a total of 46 league and cup appearances for the Reds but in July of 2011 he left the club having drifted out of contention with the first team.
