Biography
Nelson played for Belgian side Beerschot before joining Derry City in November 1985 and he was part of the Noel King managed team that played their first season of League of Ireland football in 1985/86. He scored on his debut in a 3-0 win over Cobh Ramblers but played just one season at The Brandywell and returned to Beerschot in Belgium.
