About
Biography
Keith played youths football with St Joseph's in Sallynoggin before accepting a football scholarship with UCD in the Autumn of 1979. He earned a Commerce degree during his six years with the club as well as going on tour to Africa and becoming a regular in UCD's League of Ireland team.
Keith left UCD in the Summer of 1985 and signed for Shelbourne. His first appearance for the Reds was in a League Cup tie against Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds on 8 September 1985 but the end of the season saw Shels relegated to the First Division and in October 1986 he moved on, signing for his former UCD teammate, Dermot Keely, at Shamrock Rovers.
Keith scored twice on his debut for the Hoops, in a 3-2 League Cup win over Limerick City on 5 October '86. He spent just one year with Shamrock Rovers and left the club in the Summer of 1987. The following season he played with Pegasus in the Leinster Senior League.
