Glenville FC 1 - 7 Bohemians

Seven goals made sure that Bohemians cruised past non-league Glenville and into the fourth round of the FAI Cup in heavy rain at Richmond Park on Sunday afternoon.
The first Bohemians goal came after just 10 minutes, as Paddy Madden, one-on-one on Glenville ‘keeper Barry Malone, calmly slotted the ball into the net.
Glenville had a brief spell of dominance where they forced a corner but Bohs never really let go of control after the opening goal. By the 25th minute, Bohs should have been three up. Gareth McGlynn and Paddy Madden both had chances yards out from goal, but embarrassingly missed.
It wasn’t long before Bohs scored again though, as Paddy Madden got his second goal. Ruadhri Higgins passed well to Owen Heary on the wing, who crossed for Madden to tap in again.
After this goal, Glenville managed to come back into the game and got a goal on 41 minutes to make it 2-1. Jason Hegarty, on the edge of the Bohs penalty area, spotted Chris O’Connor off his line and finished past the ‘keeper into the top-left corner.
The Gypsies were relentless in their attempts to restore their two- goal lead though, and Ken Oman scored on the stroke of half-time. Tensions ran high before half time, as a series of full-blooded tackles from players on both sides led to tempers flaring and a frantic end to the half.
The tempo slowed a bit as the second half opened as Bohemians controlled the match more with their passing. On 66 minutes the Gypsies scored again to kill the game off as a contest. Jason Byrne was let in on goal after Gareth McGlynn played a pass that split the Glenville defence in two.
The gulf in class between the sides became more apparent in the second half, as Bohemians racked the goals up. Paddy Madden capped off a wonderful performance to complete his hatrick after 81 minutes. Substitute Lee Dixon did well to cross from the wing and find Madden, who was left to head it past Barry Malone.
The remaining five minutes yielded two more goals for Bohs, as the Premier Division side ran riot among the Glenville defence. Ruadhri Higgins, who was the fulcrum of most of the Bohemians attacks, got himself on the score sheet after 86 minutes. Lee Dixon again had an influence on this goal, crossing for Jason Byrne who left it for Higgins to finish from close range.
Jason Byrne completed the Bohemians scoring with a minute remaining, as the striker headed the ball from a Paddy Madden cross.
