Hillsborough

Hillsborough is the home of Sheffield Wednesday FC. The club first occupied Hillsborough in September 1899 when they moved from their old ground at Olive Grove. It was previously known as Owlerton, which is where the club got their nickname, The Owls.

Hillsborough has staged numerous FA Cup semi-finals and is infamous as the venue where 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives during the 1989 Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.
