Leicester City were founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse and were elected to the league in 1894. Their highest ever finish in the top tier of English football came in 1929 when they were runners-up in the old Division One. They have also been runners-up in the League Cup on three occasions, and in the FA Cup on four occasions, never having won either.
