Romania’s Biography

Romania established it's federation in 1909 and played their first international match against Yugoslavia in 1922. They were one of four European sides to attend the first ever World Cup in 1930, though they were knocked out in the first stages with the same happening in the 1934 and 1938 editions too. Their best results was reaching the quarter-finals in the 1994 World Cup in the USA. They haven't qualified for the competition since 1998 too.

Romania's best finish in the European Championships was in the 2000 edition in Belgium and the Netherlands when they were knocked out in the quarter-finals. Qualifying for Euro 2016 has seen them at their first tournament since the Euros in 2008.
