Les Bleus

France’s Biography

The France national team, also known as Les Bleus due to their blue shirts, played in the inaugural World Cup Finals in Uruguay in 1930 and France hosted the tournament in 1938. They have played in 14 World Cup Finals and have won the trophy on one occasion, on home soil in 1998.

France finished fourth in the first European Championships in 1960 and have competed in a total of eight Finals, winning the competition, again on home soil, in 1984.
