Kenny’s Biography

Kenny began his career Dublin sides Home Farm and Tolka Rovers before making the move to England in September 1989 when he signed for Millwall. He would spend five seasons with the Lions, making 136 league appearances, before joining Wimbledon in November 1994.

Kenny went on to spend eight seasons with the Wombles, most of which were played out in the top tier of English football, and he made 250 league appearances for the club before eventually moving on to Birmingham City in the summer of 2002. He remained at St Andrews for four years, making over 100 league appearances, and in July 2006 he signed for Sunderland. He made 11 appearances under manager Roy Keane but sustained an injury in October and did not play again. He was released in May 2007 and retired from football.

Kenny won 72 international caps for the Republic of Ireland between 1996 and 2005 and is now a respected football pundit on Irish television.
