WATERFORD
Waterford will be in party mode on Friday night as they lift the First Division title but first there's the matter of welcoming Longford Town to the RSC (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Blues sealed the First Division crown and the only promotion spot available as a result of last week's 3-0 win over Wexford and Cobh Ramblers losing to Cabinteely.
Mark O'Sullivan scored a brace in the first half before John Martin wrapped up an easy win for the Blues in the second half.
“I really thought we would have to beat Longford Town to win the league or at least draw with them,” skipper Kenny Browne told the club's website.
“Then I got the news that Cabinteely had beaten Cobh Ramblers and I have to admit I was surprised by the result.
“To be honest I am delighted because Neal Fenn is doing a super job and it wouldn’t have been an easy game.
“We can now play them without any fear and hopefully we will turn on the style and make it a game to remember for the fans who have been brilliant all season.
“I have won league and cup titles with a few clubs in the Premier League but nothing beats winning honours with your hometown club and the medal I will get for winning this league will be right up there with all of the others.”

LONGFORD TOWN
Longford's hopes of catching UCD in third place were all but extinguished as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Students at City Calling Stadium last Saturday.
David O'Sullivan had given Longford a first-half lead, slotting home a penalty to mark his 80th goal for the club.
Rob Manley stuck home a rebound 20 minutes from time to ensure the points are shared, leaving Longford six points shy of the Students with two games to play.
With Waterford perhaps taking their foot off the accelerator now the title has been confirmed, however, there could be a chance for Neale Fenn's side to take advantage tonight.
There is no team news available for Longford ahead of the game.
Referee: David Keeler.
