Séamus’s Biography

Seamus started his professional career with Sligo Rovers having impressed in a pre-season friendly against the League of Ireland side while playing for St Catherines of Killybegs in 2006. He made his debut for Sligo against Derry City at the Brandywell in October 2006 and made over 50 league appearances in his two years at the club.

In January 2009 Seamus signed for Everton and made his first team debut in October 2009 away to Benfica at the Stadium of Light. In march 2010 he went on a loan spell at Blackpool and played in the club's play-off victory over Cardiff City that saw them promoted to the Premier League.

In 2010/11 Seamus became a regular first team player at Everton and has been at the club ever since.

Having represented the Republic of Ireland at underage level, Seamus made his debut for the senior international side against Wales at the Aviva Stadium on 8 February 2011. Ahead of the 2016 European Championship, he has 33 caps to his name. He was included in the Republic of Ireland's final squad for the 2016 European Championship.
