Liam’s Biography

Liam, a Northern Ireland U21 international, began his career in 1997 at Port Vale, where he spent seven years. When he left in 2004 spells at Bristol Rovers, Shrewsbury Town, Kidderminster Harriers and Forest Green Rovers followed.

He returned to Ireland in 2005, signing for Sean Connor at Sligo Rovers, where he won the First Division title in his first season. Liam remained at the Showgrounds for their return to the top flight in 2006 and helped the Bit O’ Red to fifth position. At the end of that season Sligo manager Sean Connor moved to Bohemians and Liam quickly followed.

Liam spent two years at Dalymount Park and was part of the League & FAI Cup double-winning Bohemians team of 2008.

In January 2009 Liam signed for Dundalk to once again join forces with Sean Connor who had just taken over at the newly promoted Louth side. Liam made 34 appearances in 2009, playing a key role in helping the club to fifth place, their highest league position in 14 years. In 2010 he made a further 27 appearances.

In February 2011 Liam signed for Bohemians and made 32 league appearances, scoring once against St Patrick's Athletic, a game in which he also received his only red card of the 2011 season.

In January 2012 Liam returned to Oriel Park, signing for new Dundalk boss Sean McCaffrey. He made 21 league appearances in what was a turbulent year for the Lilywhites and did return under new boss Stephen Kenny in 2013.
