Dave’s Biography

Born in Liverpool, Dave first landed in the League of Ireland when he joined Shelbourne in June 2003 from Dutch club Cambur. Dave who can play in the centre of defence or on the left had previously played with Chester City, Southport, Dundee, Ayr United, Partick Thistle, Carlisle, Scunthorpe and Peterborough United.

Dave made his Shels league debut against Derry City in June 2003 and made 114 league appearances at the club over the next three and a half years. A highlight of his time at Tolka Park was his goal against Hajduk Split in the second qualifying round of the Champions League in 2004.

Dave was given a free release by Shelbourne in January 2007 and was signed on a two year contract by Derry City boss Pat Fenlon, but in July 2007 he handed in a transfer request and joined St. Patrick's Athletic. He made 25 league appearances at St Pats before going on loan to Sporting Fingal in February 2008, just two weeks after being handed the St Pats Captaincy.

He made 15 league appearances for the Ravens and in 2009 he signed for Sean Connor at Dundalk. After just 11 league appearances he was sacked by the Co Louth club in May having mooned at the away fans after being sent off in a home game against former club St Patrick's Athletic.

At this point Dave moved north to join Lisburn Distillery but returned to the LOI for 2010 when he signed for Tommy Dunne at Cork City Foras Co-op. In June of that year Rogers cited the pressure of commuting from Dublin when he transferred to Limerick FC. He spent the latter half of the season at Jackman Park but was released at the season's end.

In January of 2011 Dave added to his long list of clubs by joining up with Mick Cooke at Monaghan United. Cooke left almost immediately to take up the reins at Drogheda United, where Rogers followed that summer, signing for the club in July.
