Austin’s Biography

Austin started his career with Home Farm-Fingal in 1999 and spent two seasons at the club before moving on to Dublin City in 2001. He spent just one season with the Vikings and in 2002 he signed for Kilkenny City where he spent two years before dropping out of league football to join Malahide United in 2004.

Having spent two years in the Leinster Senior League, Austin returned to league football when he signed for John Gill at Athlone Town in August 2005. He made 8 league appearances over the latter part of the season and scored once, in a 3-1 defeat to Dublin City on the last day of the season.

Austin followed John Gill to Dundalk in January 2006 and made 9 league appearances, scoring twice, before a serious injury curtailed his season. That signaled the end of his return to the league and on his release from Dundalk in December '06 he spent another two seasons in the LSL, first with Mount Merrion and then with Malahide.

In July of 2009 Austin came back for a third go at league football and a second stint at Athlone Town. He made 12 league appearances over the latter half of the season, scoring twice, and in 2010 he scored ten First Division goals as well as bagging one goal in the newly revived Leinster Senior Cup.

At the end of 2010 Austin signed for Tony Cousins at Longford Town where he played for the 2011 season, scoring six goals in 21 league appearances. Injury limited Austin to just 8 league appearances in 2012 and he was not included in Longford's 2013 squad.
