Pat’s Biography

Pat, the son of the former Northern Ireland goalkeeper of the same name, started his career at Tottenham Hotspur. He then joined UCD in 2001 on a sports scholarship. He studied Sports management during his four seasons with the Students, before going on to sign for Gavin Dykes at Derry City in 2004.

Pat spent another four years at The Brandywell where he where he made 50 league appearances before joining Sligo Rovers on loan for the 2008 season. He made just 3 league appearances for the Bit O' Red and returned to Derry the following year. But 2009 would be Pat's last season at Derry, and he made just 1 league appearance that year.

He signed for Shamrock Rovers in July 2010 but was released at the end of the season, one in which the Tallaght club lifted the Airtricity League title and finished as runners up in the FAI Cup, losing to Sligo Rovers in the final.

Pat's next port of call was Glenavon in the Irish League who he joined in March of 2011. He made just 5 league appearances for the Glens and, in March 2012, Pat signed for Mike Kerley at Athlone Town where he made his debut for the club on 10 March against Longford Town. Pat made 26 league appearances in his debut season with Athlone.

In 2013 Pat signed up with Liam Buckley's coaching staff at St Patrick's Athletic, also registering as a player with the Inchicore club. He was an unused sub 5 times as Pats went on to win the League that year. In 2014 and 2015 Pat was a back-up goalkeeper for the Saints and was included on the bench on numerous occasions without making a senior league appearance. Similarly, in 2015, Pat covered for first choice keepers Brendan Clarke and Conor O'Malley but he did make 1 league appearance, against Cork City on 29 April 2016.
