David’s Biography

David began his career at Nottingham Forest in 1996 and spent six years at the City Ground, including a short loan spell at Port Vale in 2000. He made just 8 appearances in a Forest shirt and moved in 2002, signing for Carlisle United and then Ilkeston Town before returning Ireland in 2003.

In 2003 David signed for St Patrick's Athletic and he scored the winning goal in that season's League Cup final against Longford Town. He also appeared in the 2003 FAI Cup final in which St Pats lost to Longford. He made 30 league appearances that season and scored four goals.

In 2004 David signed for Drogheda United where he spent one and a half seasons before signing for Dublin City in July 2005, helping the Vikings to promotion at the end of that season. Dublin City folded in July 2006 and David signed for Longford Town in August and made 38 league appearances for the club before leaving at the end of the 2007 season.

David was signed by Shelbourne in December 2007 and made his debut for the Reds on 7 March 2008 in a 0-0 draw against Dundalk at Tolka Park. He scored eight goals in 29 league appearances that year before moving on to Monaghan United in 2009 where he netted seven times in 27 league games.

2010 saw David pitch up for a second spell at Longford Town where he scored just twice in 21 league outings, and In February of 2011 he signed for his former Monaghan boss, Mick Cooke, at Drogheda United. David scored twice in 22 league appearances over the first half of a difficult season for the Drogs and left the club in July of that year.

David played for LSL side Bangor Celtic in 2012/13.
