Denis’s Biography

Denis was born in Kerry but began his footballing career with Limerick side Abbeyfeale. Capped at U16, U17, U18 & U21 for the Republic, he went to Brentford FC as a youngster, returning in 2002 to sign for Cork City.

In his time at Turner's Cross Denis won a League medal in in 2005 and an FAI Cup winners medal in 2007, scoring the winning goal against Longford Town in the final. He made a total of 171 appearances for Cork and scored 37 goals before signing for Hartlepool United in July 2009.

Over the following two seasons Denis made 38 league appearances at Hartlepool and scored 6 league goals, but he was released at the end of the 2010/11 season and returned home to sign for Pat Scully at Limerick FC in June 2011. He made his debut for the Blues in a 1-0 away win over Athlone Town on 16 July and scored nine goals in his 12 league appearances that year. In 2012 Denis seven times in 27 league appearances as Limerick took the First Division title.

In January 2013 Denis agreed to join Munster Senior League side College Corinthians, but a few days later he signed for a second time at Cork City. He made 15 league appearances - 8 as a substitute - and scored twice before leaving the club in that year.
