Dave’s Biography
Dave played underage football with Tymon Bawn and Bushy Park Rangers before signing for Shamrock Rovers in 2000. He spent four years coming through the Hoop's youth system and made his senior debut against Longford Town on 4 April 2004. He scored six times in 34 league appearances during his season and a half with Rovers first team but left the club at the end of July, 2005, to sign for Longford Town.
He made his Longford debut in a 1-0 win over Bohemians on 6 August 2005 and scored 26 times in 66 league appearances over the next two and a half years. Dave's last game for Longford was in the club's 2007 FAI Cup final defeat to Cork City and in January 2008 he followed his Longford boss Alan Matthews to Cork City.
Dave scored an impressive fifteen goals in 22 league appearances for Cork City but by August of 2008 he had attracted interest from England and on 20 August he signed for Reading FC. He spent three years at Reading without ever making a senior appearance for them. Instead he had multiple loan spells at Stockport County, Norwich City, Charlton Athletic and Colchester United. On 23 July 2011 Dave signed for Leyton Orient.
